Delta Zeta Sorority

The Lambda Gamma Chapter of Delta Zeta makes it's home on the beautiful campus of Jacksonville State University, in Jacksonville, Alabama. We are known for being very involved both on campus and in the local community. On campus we have sisters involved with athletics, Panhellenic Council, departmental clubs and organizations, and honor societies. We strongly believe that if you want to be involved on campus, maintaining a good GPA, and having fun, as well as an enriching life experience, then being a Delta Zeta is the path for YOU!

This 2007-2008 year will be the 31st year for DZ at JSU. We celebrated 105 years of sisterhood on October 24, 2007.

Delta Zeta was found in 1902 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Six extroadinary women came together to form a Sorority. Delta Zeta is the only true "Sorority" at JSU the other chapters on campus are "Women's Fraternities."
Delta Zeta is now the largest national sorority in the world with some 165 chapters.

Founders Julia Bishop, Mary Collins, Alfa Lloyd, Anna Keen, Mabelle Minton, Anne Simmons founded a small sisterhood, never realizing how much it would flourish and grow.
